Micro Silica Fume

Micro silica fumes are the by product of ferrosilicon alloy which is produced during reduction of pure quartz in electric arc furnace. Fumes of micro silica contain non crystalline silicon dioxide with tiny particles. Due to their high silica based content and fine particle size, Micro silica fumes tend to react with slaked lime at normal temperature and can produce cement with slow hardening attributes in moisture prone working condition. Fumes of silica play major role in improving bonding properties and compressive strength of cement by filling its voids. By minimizing concretes permeability to chloride ions, fumes of silica prevent corrosion formation of reinforced steel used in different concrete structures.
